Experience Working with Youth

While in a full-time Career Services role at the University of Central Florida (UCF), I educated students through group presentations and individual coaching on interviewing, negotiation, networking, and resume development. While at UCF, my love for making a difference through engagement and enthusiasm led to the nomination as a Student Affairs Outstanding Service Award Finalist.  I have also been a guest speaker at Duke University, North Carolina State University, Wake Forest University, ECPI, Wake Tech Community College, United Way, YMCA, and the GAP Teen Entrepreneur Retreat.  Additionally, I emceed two teen variety shows that raised money for less fortunate families in the southeast.
Additional value I bring students is my experience in recruiting capacities at SeaWorld, Hilton (Disney Resort), and Universal Studios.

Background in Outplacement

My training ground in outplacement was with a globally-recognized firm. In that role of more than 15 years, I facilitated career transition workshops designed for professionals whose jobs were impacted by downsizing. In engaging and inspiring fashion, During a 30-month project, I collaborated with 18 career coaches to service 3,000 job candidates. On another assignment, I facilitated a series of workshops at a manufacturing plant with 250 employees. This role allowed me to fully utilize my blended style of delivery while inspiring humans that were going through significant change.

Additionally, I have designed and facilitated career transition workshops for Duke University's Short Courses Program, Wake County Lifelong Learning, Wake Tech Community College (HR Development), and Capital Workforce Development career fairs.

Education

My Bachelor of Arts was earned at Western Illinois University. Through CPP, Inc., I am certified in the Myers Briggs Type Indicator.
